Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew cabbage with turkey? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can take turkey thigh fillet on the bone, cut off the meat, and use the rest to make broth for soup. Choose medium-sized carrots, onions and cabbage. Tomato paste can be replaced with tomato sauce, ketchup or tomatoes in their own juice. Spices can also be adjusted to your liking.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the turkey thigh fillet under running water and pat dry. Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a coarse grater. Cut the onion into small cubes. Also finely chop the garlic.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat a little vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed frying pan (I use a wok) and place the chopped turkey in it. Fry the pieces of meat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly so that it is browned on each side.

Step 5

Step 5
Add chopped onion and garlic and grated carrots to the meat and fry for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 6

Step 6
Then pour a little hot water into the pan so that it covers the meat halfway, close the lid and leave to simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.

Step 7

Step 7
Rinse the cabbage and remove the top leaves. They are usually spoiled and a little wilted. Shred the cabbage in a way convenient for you.

Step 8

Step 8
Add shredded cabbage to the meat and stir.

Step 9

Step 9
Add tomato paste, salt, sweet peas, black pepper and mix again. There is no need to add any more water. Simmer the cabbage and turkey over medium heat until done. Determine readiness according to your taste: some people like the cabbage to be a little crunchy, others like it to be softer. On average, it takes about 10-15 minutes to stew young cabbage. It is better to simmer late varieties of cabbage for 30-40 minutes.
