Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew buckwheat with beef? Very simple. First, prepare the necessary ingredients. In addition to beef, you can use any meat: pork, lamb. Chicken or turkey will also work. You can add or replace the vegetable part to your liking.

Step 2

Step 2
Sort the buckwheat, rinse thoroughly until the water is clear and dry. To do this, it is better to place the cereal on a sieve and let all the water drain. Buckwheat can be replaced with any other grain of your choice. In this case, the cooking time may change in one direction or another. Do not forget that some cereals (for example, pearl barley) require pre-soaking.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the meat, dry and cut into small pieces. The meat is required without bones, only pulp. The pork must be thoroughly dried with paper towels, otherwise the excess moisture will prevent it from frying — it will stew.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the carrots and cut into strips.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel the onion and cut into cubes or half rings, as you like. If you or your children donʼt like onions, you can omit them altogether or replace them with another vegetable, such as bell pepper.

Step 6

Step 6
Heat the vegetable oil in a cauldron or deep frying pan over high heat. Place the meat and fry, stirring, for 10-15 minutes until half cooked.

Step 7

Step 7
Add onions, carrots, tomato sauce, spices to the cauldron and stir. Simmer everything together over medium heat for about 10 minutes. You can replace tomato sauce with tomato paste or ketchup.

Step 8

Step 8
Add buckwheat and smooth it out. There is no need to mix it with meat.

Step 9

Step 9
Pour in hot water or broth so that it rises 3-4 cm above the buckwheat. Bring the water to a boil.

Step 10

Step 10
Simmer over low heat, covered, until done, 25-30 minutes. If necessary, add a little more hot water. At the end, stir the porridge.

Step 11

Step 11
Divide the prepared buckwheat with beef into plates and serve. Bon appetit!
