Our Russian super food! Very tasty and healthy! Barley porridge with water Ya is quite simple to make, although not quick. It can be served as a separate dish, flavored with berries, nuts or fruits, and also served as a side dish for hot meat dishes.

Basic:

Salt 1 tsp
Butter 50 g
Water 4 cup
Barley (polished) 1 cup

How to make barley porridge with water? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Always use filtered or bottled water for cooking, even if you just need to soak ingredients. If you want to prepare porridge for breakfast, then start preparing in the evening. Accordingly, for dinner — in the morning.

Sort the grains and, if necessary, remove any remaining husks and foreign particles. Rinse well in cool running water.

Pour boiling water over the cereal in a 1:2 ratio. Leave for at least 5 hours, I left it overnight.

In the morning, the cereal will swell well and absorb half the water.

Transfer the cereal to the bowl in which it will be cooked and add water so that the cereal again has half the amount of water. Add salt and stir.

Set to simmer over medium heat. After boiling, reduce the heat to low and cook the porridge for 30-45 minutes until the liquid evaporates. At the end of cooking, the water will boil away and craters like this will appear. Wait another minute and you can turn it off.

If you have free time, then wrap the pan with porridge in a towel and let it brew for a couple of hours, the porridge will turn out steamed and more tasty. Before serving, add butter to the porridge. Bon appetit!
