Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make buckwheat with meat in the oven? Very simple. First, prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any meat: beef, pork, lamb. Chicken or turkey will also work. You can add or replace the vegetable part to your liking. Read about how to choose the right buckwheat in a separate article about buckwheat, the link is at the end of the recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Sort the buckwheat, rinse thoroughly until the water is clear and dry. To do this, it is better to place the cereal on a sieve and let all the water drain. Buckwheat can be replaced with any other grain of your choice. In this case, the cooking time may change in one direction or another. Do not forget that some cereals (for example, pearl barley) require pre-soaking.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the pork, dry it and cut into small pieces. Pork needs no bones, just pulp. Choose a part of the carcass according to your taste. This could be a ham, shoulder, carbonate, neck, tenderloin, etc. I have tender pork tenderloin without fat.

Step 4

Step 4
Cut the carrots into small pieces — strips, cubes or circles, like mine.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel the onion and cut into cubes or half rings, as you like. If you or your children donʼt like onions, you can omit them altogether or replace them with another vegetable, such as bell pepper.

Step 6

Step 6
Peel and chop the garlic.

Step 7

Step 7
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as choose the right vegetable oil, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Add onions and carrots. Fry, stirring, until the vegetables are lightly golden brown.

Step 8

Step 8
Finally, add the garlic and heat everything together for 1 minute. Transfer the roasted vegetables to a bowl.

Step 9

Step 9
Return the pan to medium heat. If necessary, add a little more vegetable oil. Stirring, fry the meat until lightly golden brown. Place the meat in a bowl with the vegetables.

Step 10

Step 10
Add buckwheat to the bowl with the pork and vegetables. Salt, pepper and mix everything.

Step 11

Step 11
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and level it out. Pour in warm, clean water or broth until it almost completely covers the contents of the mold.

Step 12

Step 12
Cover the pan with foil. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C for 25-30 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. Find out more about the features of ovens by clicking on the link at the end of the recipe. Leave the pan in the switched off oven for another 20 minutes. Place the prepared buckwheat with meat and vegetables on plates and serve. Bon appetit!
