In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in water. Leave the mixture for about 10 minutes until a light foamy “cap” appears on the surface. This will check the activity of the yeast. If you are confident in their quality, you don’t have to wait for activation, but proceed to the next step.

Add salt and olive oil, stir.

Sift flour into liquid ingredients. Do not pour out all the flour at once. You may need more or less flour than the specified amount. Stir the dough first with a spoon, then knead with your hands. The dough is soft, homogeneous, and does not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a towel and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes.
