Oven-Baked Chicken Thighs with Tomato Sauce and Cheese

Prepare golden crispy chicken for your family! The chicken turns out delicious, with an appetizing crispy crust. Itʼs very easy to prepare. Instead of thighs, you can use chicken fillet, but the main thing is not to dry it out during frying. Itʼs best to serve these thighs right away, so they will retain their crispy crust :) Help yourself!

Ingredients (6 portions)

Basic:

Hard cheese 100 g
Chicken thighs 6 pc

For the sauce:

Onion 1 pc
Garlic 3 clove
Tomatoes 400 g
Salt to taste
Sugar 1 tsp
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp
Herbal mixture to taste

For breading:

Wheat flour 4 tbsp
Eggs 2 pc
Breadcrumbs 1 cup

Ingredients. Grind the tomatoes in their own juice into puree. Since there were no bread crumbs on the farm, instead I dried slices of white bread and ground them into crumbs.

For the sauce. Finely chop the onion and garlic.

Fry the onion and garlic in vegetable oil until soft.

Add the grated tomatoes (I additionally rubbed them through a sieve) and simmer until a thick sauce. At the end, season the sauce with salt, sugar, herbs (fresh or dried to your taste).

Remove the skin from the chicken thighs and cut out the bone. To get the bone, we make deep cuts along the bone, insert a knife under the bone and separate it from the meat. If desired, each thigh can be cut into 2 parts.

Letʼs start breading. Take 3 bowls, break 2 eggs into one, beat them lightly with a fork and season with salt and pepper. Pour the flour into another bowl, and the breadcrumbs into a third (I added a little grated Parmesan to the breadcrumbs, but this is not necessary). Lightly season the chicken with spices, roll in flour, then in egg and breadcrumbs.

Fry in a frying pan until fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the meat. Place the fried chicken in a suitable form.

Top each piece with sauce.

And sprinkle with grated cheese (choose the type that melts well), put the pan with the chicken in an oven preheated to 200 for a few minutes so that the cheese melts. Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Bon appetit!
