Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chicken in mayonnaise with garlic in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I chose a small chicken weighing 1.5 kg. The cooking time will depend on the weight of the bird. The larger the carcass, the longer it will bake. I recommend choosing a chilled carcass rather than a frozen one: it contains less water. I always cut off the tail and excess fat. The amount of garlic and seasonings can be adjusted to suit your taste.

Step 2

Step 2
Mix mayonnaise with finely grated garlic.

Step 3

Step 3
Dry the carcass with paper towels. Salt, pepper and grate the suneli hops outside and inside. Then brush the chicken with the mayonnaise mixture, not forgetting the areas under the wings. Covering the chicken with cling film, I left it to marinate in the refrigerator overnight. But if you don’t have that much time, a couple of hours will be enough.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the chicken on its back on a baking sheet lined with a non-stick sheet or greased with a drop of sunflower oil. Remove the garlic from the top of the carcass, otherwise it will burn. Also, to avoid burning, secure the wings in the carcass with wooden skewers. Tie the legs crosswise with regular white tailorʼs thread.

Step 5

Step 5
Bake the chicken in an oven preheated to 180°C for an hour. Baste the chicken with any of its juices as it cooks. This will make the chicken skin as appetizing as possible and crispy.

Step 6

Step 6
Check the chicken for doneness by piercing the thickest part of the breast with a wooden skewer. If the juice comes out clear, the chicken is ready. If itʼs pink, bake it some more. Before serving, remove the skewers and threads from the carcass. Chicken baked in mayonnaise is exceptionally good when served hot.
