Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make chicken stew in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the chicken in running water, dry and cut into portions. Place chicken in a bowl.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the lemon thoroughly. Pour lemon juice over the chicken pieces and stir.

Step 4

Step 4
Add salt and pepper.

Step 5

Step 5
Add your favorite spices — I really love Provençal herbs, which go great with chicken.

Step 6

Step 6
Add paprika.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour in soy sauce. Here it does not play the main role; I added just a little bit of it so that all the spices would be better distributed throughout the chicken.

Step 8

Step 8
Mix well. In principle, the chicken can be prepared in this form the day before and left in the refrigerator overnight, so it can be marinated and soaked in spices. But to be honest, I didn’t do this and baked it right away.

Step 9

Step 9
Peel the onion, rinse and cut into half rings.

Step 10

Step 10
Peel the garlic and cut into slices.

Step 11

Step 11
Take a baking dish. Place onions on the bottom of the pan.

Step 12

Step 12
Next, spread out the garlic.

Step 13

Step 13
If desired, place a few bay leaves on top.

Step 14

Step 14
Place chicken pieces on top.

Step 15

Step 15
Pour a glass of water into the baking dish.

Step 16

Step 16
Cover with foil and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 1.5 hours. The times are approximate, be guided by the operating characteristics of your oven. For more information on using aluminum foil and how different ovens work, see the separate articles at the end of this recipe.

Step 17

Step 17
Even under the foil, the chicken acquired a golden brown crust. If this does not happen for you, then keep the chicken in the oven for another 15 minutes without foil so that it browns slightly.

Step 18

Step 18
Bon appetit!
