Basic:

Garlic 3 clove
Olive oil (any refined vegetable oil.) 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Bay leaf 7 pc
Chicken (1.5-1.6 kg) 1 pc

How to bake a whole chicken in the oven, deliciously and simply, with a crust? Prepare your ingredients. To prepare chicken baked with bay leaf we will need: chicken weighing 1.4-1.7 kg, bay leaves, garlic, ground black pepper and salt.

Wash the chicken and dry it.

Season the bird with salt and ground pepper, inside and out.

Peel the garlic. Place all the garlic and 2-3 bay leaves inside the carcass.

Using a sharp, thin knife, separate the skin from the meat on the breast and evenly distribute the remaining bay leaves underneath.

Brush the chicken with olive oil and place in a baking dish or skewer. Personally, when baking, the chicken released a lot of liquid and fat, so it’s good that I decided to bake it in a deep pan, and not on a spit, as I had originally planned.

Bake the chicken for about 1 hour at 180°C until golden brown. Ready chicken can be served with any side dish, for example, boiled potatoes or rice. Bon appetit!
