Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make classic chili con carne? Prepare your ingredients. Take beef with clean flesh, you can immediately take minced beef. Canned or pre-boiled beans are suitable (but not until cooked). 1 large bell pepper, or two smaller ones. If you have the opportunity to use hot pepper instead of dry seasonings, then it is better to use it. My tomatoes are grated, you can take tomatoes in their own juice or fresh ones, removing the skin from them.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the beef fillet under running cold water and pat dry. The beef can be minced or finely chopped with a sharp knife. Iʼll cut it.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the skins of the onion and garlic. Finely chop them along with the celery. Place a deep frying pan or saucepan with a thick bottom on the fire and heat it up. Pour in vegetable oil and fry the prepared vegetables until translucent.

Step 4

Step 4
Add chopped beef or minced meat to the fried vegetables. Fry the meat and vegetables over medium heat for about 10 minutes. If you use minced meat in cooking, then when frying you need to try to break the pieces so that there are no lumps.

Step 5

Step 5
Wash the pepper, remove the seeds and stem. Chop the pepper as desired and add to the meat, add ground paprika and dry spices. Fry everything together, stirring, for 5 — 7 minutes. If fresh hot peppers are used in the preparation, then they should also be added at this stage.

Step 6

Step 6
Add chopped tomatoes and stir. For a richer taste, you can add a teaspoon of tomato paste. Salt and add ground black pepper.

Step 7

Step 7
Add prepared beans, stir. Pour boiling water over the dish so that the liquid completely covers the contents of the pan. Simmer over medium heat, covered, until done. If the beans are cooked until cooked, then do not add them yet, but simmer the meat without them for about an hour. Then add the beans and simmer everything together for another 30 minutes. With canned beans, simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 8

Step 8
Let the finished chili con carne steep in the pan, covered, for 10-15 minutes and you can serve. I had this dish for dinner along with boiled potatoes.
