Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make cucumber sauce? Prepare your food. Take two medium, three small or one large cucumbers. Choose high-quality, natural sour cream, without adding vegetable fats. The fat content can be any — only the thickness of the finished sauce and its calorie content will depend on it. The number of garlic cloves will depend on your taste, I took one.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the cucumbers well and cut off the ends. Be sure to try them to see if they are bitter — such fruits will ruin the taste of the dish. If the cucumbers are very ripe, with large seeds, then remove the skin from them and scrape out the middle with the seeds with a spoon. Grate the cucumbers on a medium grater. Not on a large one so that the sauce does not turn out rough.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the grated cucumbers in a bowl and squeeze out the excess liquid. Peel the garlic cloves and squeeze into the cucumbers. You can also grate it on a fine grater if you donʼt have a press. Season with salt and pepper, and then stir the mixture. If you wish, you can add any finely chopped herbs — dill, parsley, cilantro. See according to your taste or availability.

Step 4

Step 4
Add sour cream to the bowl and mix well until smooth. Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper if necessary.

Step 5

Step 5
Transfer the finished sauce into a suitable bowl, garnish with cucumber slices and herbs. Serve with meat, chicken, cutlets, and boiled potatoes. Or use the sauce when making Greek shawarma. Bon appetit!
