Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make tomato sauce for cutlets? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take refined vegetable oil, that is, odorless.

Step 2

Step 2
Cutlets can be made from any minced meat: meat, chicken, fish. Prepare the cutlet mass in your usual way. Traditionally, the cutlet mass is prepared with the addition of chopped onions, white bread crumbs soaked in milk, salt and spices. I have mixed minced pork and beef.

Step 3

Step 3
Form the cutlet mixture into cutlets of the desired shape and size. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the cutlets over moderate heat until golden brown on both sides. Remove cutlets from pan.

Step 4

Step 4
Wash the pre-peeled onions and cut into small cubes.

Step 5

Step 5
The remaining oil and juice from frying the cutlets can be used to prepare the sauce. Place chopped onions in the pan. Fry the onion over moderate heat while stirring until translucent and soft.

Step 6

Step 6
Add tomato paste to the pan and stir. Simmer the tomato paste and onion for 1 minute.

Step 7

Step 7
Dissolve the flour in a small amount of water until the lumps disappear. You can fry the flour together with the onion, and then dilute it with water. But in this case it will be a little more difficult to get rid of lumps of flour.

Step 8

Step 8
Pour the flour diluted in water into the frying pan and stir. Add the rest of the water and increase the heat. The amount of water will depend on the desired thickness of the sauce. For a thick sauce, reduce the amount of water.

Step 9

Step 9
Salt the sauce, add bay leaf, aromatic herbs and spices to taste, stir.

Step 10

Step 10
Place the cutlets in the sauce and bring to a boil. Simmer the cutlets over low heat in the sauce with the lid closed for 7-10 minutes so that they are saturated with its taste and aroma. My sauce turned out to be medium thick.

Step 11

Step 11
Serve tomato sauce for cutlets with a side dish of potatoes or cereals or with pasta. Bon appetit!
