Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make gravy for meatballs in a frying pan? Prepare the indicated products. Making gravy for meatballs without the meatballs themselves is not at all interesting, so we’ll do everything together. My minced meat is homemade from chicken and pork. It is better to take round unparboiled rice; first boil it until half cooked: add washed rice to boiling water, stir and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and rinse the rice under cold water.

Step 2

Step 2
In a deep bowl, mix the ingredients for the meatballs: semi-cooked rice, minced meat, egg, finely chopped onions (pre-peeled), salt, you can add ground black pepper or other dry spices to your taste. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

Step 3

Step 3
With wet hands, form small round meatballs. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs on both sides until they retain their shape. They need to be turned over carefully so as not to fall apart. You can first roll them in flour. You will learn how to choose a frying pan and oil for frying from the article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 4

Step 4
Stir tomato paste in a glass of hot water and add salt. You can add spices: ground black pepper, paprika or others to your taste.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour the liquid into the pan with the fried meatballs, add the bay leaf and place over medium heat. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 10 — 15 minutes.

Step 6

Step 6
In half a glass of water, dilute sour cream and flour until a homogeneous mass without lumps. Pour sour cream into the frying pan with the meatballs, mix everything carefully. Taste for salt and add salt if necessary.

Step 7

Step 7
Close the lid and simmer for another 15-20 minutes over low heat, at a low boil. You can turn the meatballs over halfway through cooking. If the gravy turns out thick, you can dilute it with boiling water to the desired thickness and stir.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the finished meatballs with tomato sauce on plates. This dish can be served on its own or with a side dish. It will go especially well with potatoes. Bon appetit!
