Step 1

Step 1
How to make teriyaki sauce at home? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take a heavy-bottomed frying pan and heat it over medium heat. Add the following ingredients to the pan one at a time: soy sauce, cane sugar, dried ginger and dried garlic.

Step 2

Step 2
Please note that soy sauce comes in varying degrees of saltiness. Therefore, choose one that does not seem too salty and is pleasant to your taste, because... Since it is soy sauce that serves as the basis for teriyaki sauce, the final taste of the dish will depend on it. Next, add wine vinegar, olive oil and honey to the existing ingredients.

Step 3

Step 3
While preparing the teriyaki sauce with honey, stir constantly using a wooden spatula, bringing it to a boil.

Step 4

Step 4
Take a small container or glass, pour in water and slowly add potato starch. Mix everything well so that there are no lumps. Pour the starch water in a thin stream into the frying pan with the rest of the ingredients while stirring the contents of the frying pan and remove the frying pan from the heat. Our simple classic teriyaki sauce is ready!

Step 5

Step 5
Leave the teriyaki sauce to cool for a short time. This will take about 20 minutes. When the sauce has cooled a little, carefully pour it into a small glass jar. Close it tightly with a lid and let the sauce cool. Store prepared teriyaki sauce in the refrigerator.
