Ingredients (6 portions)

Basic:

Onion 2 pc
Bay leaf 2 pc
Tomato paste (with a slide) 1 tbsp
Carrot (large) 1 pc
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Dry spices (a mixture of hot and allspice peas, several buds of cloves, coriander seeds, salt) 1 tbsp
Hake (2 frozen fish, I had large ones, with a total weight of about 600-700 g) 2 pc

We cut off the fins of the fish and cut them into pieces 3-4 cm thick.

Cut the onion into quarters, grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

Place some of the carrots and onions on the bottom of the saucepan.

On top is a piece of fish.

Next, lay it out in layers; on top you should get a layer of carrots and onions.

For 1 tbsp. l. fry the tomato paste with vegetable oil, add 0.5 tsp. sugar (without a slide, if desired), stir and add 1 tbsp. water. Bring to a boil.

Fill the fish with tomato, the liquid should be at the level with the fish, if there is not enough liquid, just add more water. Add all the spices and bay leaves.

Simmer over low heat for 25-30 minutes.
