Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake red fish with tomatoes and cheese in the oven? Prepare your food. Any fish is suitable — salmon, salmon, chum salmon, pink salmon, I have trout. Take ready-made steaks or fillets. Or fillet the whole fish yourself.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the fish pieces carefully and dry them well with paper towels — excess moisture will make the dish watery. Take a suitable baking dish. Drop some odorless vegetable oil into the bottom. Place the pieces of fish into the pan, spreading the oil along the bottom. Salt and season the fish with spices. I used ground pepper, you can use your favorite. Sprinkle the pieces with lemon juice.

Step 3

Step 3
Let the fish sit and marinate while you prepare the other ingredients. Wash the tomatoes and cut into thin circles or semicircles, depending on the size of the fish pieces.

Step 4

Step 4
Grate the cheese on a medium grater. Choose good, high-quality cheese without vegetable fats, hard or semi-hard varieties. How to replace different types of cheeses, read the article at the end of the recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
Sprinkle half of all the cheese on top of the fish. Place tomato slices on it so that they lie on pieces — this will make the dish more convenient to serve.

Step 6

Step 6
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.

Step 7

Step 7
Bake the fish in the oven, preheated to 180°C, for 20-25 minutes, depending on the type and thickness of the fish. But don’t over-expose it, otherwise you risk drying it out. Baking times are approximate; be guided by the operating characteristics of your oven. Read about ovens in a separate article at the end of the recipe. Remove the finished fish from the oven and serve.
