Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew bell peppers with tomatoes and onions in a frying pan? Very simple! Prepare all the necessary products. Choose meaty, large peppers; with them the dish will turn out especially juicy and tasty. If possible, use peppers of different colors, then the end result will delight you with bright colors and an appetizing appearance. Tomatoes of any variety are suitable, you can even use cherry ones.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onions and garlic. Rinse all vegetables under running cold water. Cut the peppers in half and remove the core. Cut the peppers into large slices as in the photo.

Step 3

Step 3
Chop the garlic into small pieces. Can be cut into circles or slices. Heat olive or regular vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed frying pan. Send the garlic to fry. Stirring, cook over high heat for a few seconds.

Step 4

Step 4
Cut the onion into thin half rings or quarter rings. When the oil is sufficiently saturated with the aromas of garlic, add the onion to the pan. Stir fry until light golden brown.

Step 5

Step 5
Cut the tomatoes into large cubes or slices. If desired, remove the peel from the tomatoes first. If you have cherry tomatoes, cut them in half. Place the tomatoes in the frying pan. Cook for a few seconds.

Step 6

Step 6
Next comes the turn of the bell pepper. Add it to all the ingredients in the pan.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour in half a glass of water, a couple of tablespoons of wine vinegar and salt to taste. At this stage, you can sprinkle the dish with your favorite spices. I used a pinch of ground red paprika, thyme and black pepper. Mix everything carefully. After the water boils, reduce the heat on the stove to low and simmer the peppers under the lid until soft. This usually takes from 40 to 60 minutes. The exact time depends on the peppers themselves and how large they are chopped.

Step 8

Step 8
Open the lid periodically and mix everything carefully. At the end of cooking, taste for salt and add salt if necessary. Sprinkle the finished peppers with finely chopped herbs. Dill, cilantro, parsley or green onions are perfect.

Step 9
Done, ready to serve! Amazingly delicious hot or cold!
