Ingredients (12 portions)

Basic:

Sugar 180 g
Orange zest 1 tsp
Wheat flour 370 g
Butter (soft) 100 g
bitter chocolate 80 g
Eggs 2 pc
Baking powder 1.5 tsp
Vanilla tincture (or vanilla sugar) 1 tsp
Hazelnut (can be replaced with almonds or walnuts) 80 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
The ingredients we need (no, only chocolate, or rather it is there, but it’s not visible, when I took the photo, I didn’t notice something)

Step 2

Step 2
To begin, beat butter at room temperature with sugar and vanilla sugar (I use vanilla tincture)

Step 3

Step 3
Add 2 eggs, beating thoroughly after each.

Step 4

Step 4
Sift the flour with baking powder and add to the butter mixture.

Step 5

Step 5
Knead the thick dough. (I kneaded everything with a mixer, and at the very end I switched to a spatula, the poor mixer couldn’t handle it anymore :))

Step 6

Step 6
Now divide the dough into two equal parts. Add half the chopped hazelnuts and melted chocolate to one, knead the chocolate dough.

Step 7

Step 7
Add the remaining hazelnuts and zest to the second part.

Step 8

Step 8
These are the two koloboks we get. We divide each kolobok into 2 equal parts, so in total we get 4 koloboks.

Step 9

Step 9
Roll each part into a rope

Step 10

Step 10
Take 2 different sausages and put them together. You can simply mold them together, you can braid them.

Step 11

Step 11
Bake the finished bars in an oven preheated to 180 C for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Step 12

Step 12
Let the bars cool slightly and cut them with a sharp knife into segments about 1.5 cm thick. And dry them in the oven at 160 C for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 13

Step 13
Serve the finished croutons to the table, bon appetit!
