Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make lazy cabbage rolls with minced meat in a frying pan with rice? Take all the necessary products. It is better to take young cabbage, this will reduce the cooking time for cabbage rolls. My rice is steamed. How to choose rice, read the article below the steps. Tomato paste can be replaced with tomato sauce, ketchup or tomatoes in their own juice. It’s better to use low-fat sour cream (I use 15%). I use minced chicken, but you can use any minced meat you like.

Step 2

Step 2
Pre-cook the rice until half cooked. To do this, add hot water to the steamed rice, bring to a boil and turn off the heat. Drain the liquid and leave the rice to cool. Peel the fresh cabbage from the top leaves, chop it very thinly, and chop it crosswise with a knife so that you get not very large pieces. Pour boiling water over shredded cabbage.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the onions and carrots, peel and chop them — cut the onion into cubes, grate the carrots on a coarse grater. In a deep bowl, mix the minced meat, chopped carrots, onions, and cabbage (drain the liquid first). Add half-cooked rice, chicken egg, salt and pepper to taste. Knead everything thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

Step 4

Step 4
With wet hands, pinch off the minced meat and roll into medium-sized round cutlets like meatballs. Place them in the selected pan, quite tightly to each other. There is no need to add oil to the pan, since the meatballs will be stewed in the sauce without pre-frying.

Step 5

Step 5
In a glass, mix sour cream, tomato paste, a little salt and, if necessary, dilute with water (I added half a glass). Pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls in the pan until it almost completely covers them. Place the frying pan over medium heat and simmer the cabbage rolls until cooked (the time will depend on the cabbage chosen) for 30-40 minutes. You can turn the cabbage rolls several times during cooking if the sauce does not completely cover them.

Step 6

Step 6
Serve the finished cabbage rolls in tomato-sour cream sauce hot, sprinkled with chopped fresh dill. This is an excellent stand-alone dish. If it seems that they require additions, then you can serve them with mashed potatoes. Lazy cabbage rolls with cabbage and minced meat in a frying pan are a dietary dish that is also suitable for baby food. Bon appetit!
