Basic:

Salt 0.5 tsp
Sugar 100 g
Wheat flour 450 g
Sour cream 150 g
Vegetable oil (for frying) 150 g
Powdered sugar (for sprinkling) 30 g
Chicken eggs 2 pc
Soda 0.25 tsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to cook brushwood with sour cream and eggs? Prepare all the necessary products. Be sure to wash the eggs before using. The shell may contain harmful bacteria. For washing, it is better to use food-grade detergents and a brush.

Step 2

Step 2
Place sour cream, eggs, salt, soda and sugar in a bowl. Mix everything thoroughly. Sift the flour. This will saturate it with oxygen and the baking will be more airy. Read about the properties of flour and the nuances of using soda in a separate article using the links at the end of the recipe.

Step 3

Step 3
Add flour to the sour cream mixture in portions. And be prepared for the fact that you will need more or less flour than in the recipe. The consistency of the dough should be soft and elastic.

Step 4

Step 4
Lightly flour the board and roll out the dough to about 3mm thick.

Step 5

Step 5
Using a sharp knife, cut the layer into strips 3-4 cm wide, from which cut out diamonds.

Step 6

Step 6
Cut diamonds down the middle. Thread one ponytail through the cut as shown in the photo. Shake off excess flour from the resulting flagella.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour vegetable oil into a thick-bottomed pan and heat it thoroughly. To check if the oil is hot enough, dip a wooden spatula into it. If bubbles form around the oil, the oil has become hot. Dip the pieces into the oil. The article at the link at the end of the recipe will help you choose oil for frying.

Step 8

Step 8
Fry the brushwood on both sides until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, remove the finished products and place on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the brushwood on a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve. Bon appetit!
