Grandma's Sweet Rusks

Another recipe from my grandmother. Very simple, from available products. These crumbly crackers are ideal for picnics, cottages, and trips. They won’t melt in the sun, but in nature you always want something sweet with tea.

Ingredients (12 portions)

Basic:

Salt 1 tsp
Sugar 1 cup
Wheat flour (approximately.) 4.5 cup
Eggs 3 pc
Walnuts 1 cup
Raisin (as little as possible) 1 cup
Soda (extinguish with vinegar) 1 tsp
Margarine (or oil) 200 g
Cognac 2 tbsp

Recipe instructions

Prepare the products: washed raisins, warm eggs, soft margarine, lightly toasted nuts.

Beat eggs with sugar.

Step 3

Add soft margarine and stir. Add cognac, salt, slaked soda, flour. Knead the dough so that it does not stick to your hands.

Chop the nuts with a knife, not finely.

Combine raisins and nuts with dough.

Divide the dough into 3 parts, form them into sausages, and place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated oven at t180-200 until half cooked, about 20 minutes, so that the dough is still soft, but not raw, easy to cut. If you overdo it, it will crumble.

Remove from the oven, cut into breadcrumbs and continue baking in the oven over low heat until golden brown.

Turn off the oven, leaving the crackers to dry a little more.
