Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make chicken liver with apples and onions? Prepare the necessary ingredients. It is important to choose a high-quality liver: it should be brown, smooth, and without damage. The smell of high-quality liver is sweetish.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the chicken liver, remove bile ducts and films and chop coarsely.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes when slicing, rinse it and the knife with cold water.

Step 4

Step 4
Wash and dry the apples. Remove the core. Cut the apples into slices.

Step 5

Step 5
To prevent the apples from darkening, you can lightly sprinkle them with lemon juice.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour flour into a deep bowl and roll the liver pieces in it.

Step 7

Step 7
Fry the liver, stirring occasionally, in a preheated frying pan in vegetable oil over fairly high heat on all sides for about 4-6 minutes.

Step 8

Step 8
Remove the liver and be sure to cover it with foil or a plate to keep it warm.

Step 9

Step 9
Fry the apples in the same frying pan where you cooked the liver, literally 1-2 minutes on each side, lightly sprinkling them with cinnamon and nutmeg. The apples should retain their shape.

Step 10

Step 10
Place lightly fried apples in a separate container.

Step 11

Step 11
In the same pan, fry the onion until golden brown. If necessary, add a little vegetable oil.

Step 12

Step 12
Place chicken liver on the onion. Add salt to taste and stir.

Step 13

Step 13
Place apples on top. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the liver is ready, stirring occasionally so that all the ingredients are saturated with each other’s aromas. At this stage, instead of stewing, you can send the dish to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, also for 5-7 minutes. To do this, transfer all the ingredients into a heat-resistant form.

Step 14

Step 14
Bon appetit!
