Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to cook crumbly pilaf with chicken in a slow cooker? Prepare your food. Choose long-grain rice, then the pilaf will definitely be crumbly. Round rice sticks together and turns out like porridge. Read about all the intricacies of choosing rice for pilaf in a separate article about rice at the link at the end of the recipe. Chicken can be replaced with turkey, beef or pork. I used boneless chicken thighs.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse with water. Cut into cubes. Turn on the “Fry” mode on the multicooker, pour in a little vegetable oil, add the onion and fry until golden brown. Choose an oil with a high smoke point. Read more about this in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. If you donʼt have the "Fry" mode, select "Steam". I cook exactly in this mode.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the carrots, rinse and cut into cubes. Add chopped carrots to onions. Fry everything for a couple of minutes.

Step 4

Step 4
Wash the chicken, dry it, cut it into small pieces, add it to the vegetables and fry for another couple of minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
Rinse the rice several times until the water is clean. Pour the rice into the slow cooker, add salt to taste, turmeric and your favorite spices. Wash the garlic and stick it into the rice.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour in water in a ratio of 2:1 (2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice). Close the multicooker lid and set it to “Pilaf” or “Rice” mode for 40 minutes. The time is indicated approximately, as it will depend on the power and operating features of your multicooker. When the multicooker signals that the mode has ended, open the lid, remove the garlic and stir the pilaf. Bon appetit!
