Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
This is the simplest recipe for plum tincture. It is simple not only in its preparation method, but also in its composition. Because it consists of only two ingredients: the plum itself and vodka. It is better to take a well-ripe sweet plum (since the tincture is prepared without sugar), but not an overripe one, otherwise the plum will begin to disintegrate during infusion and spoil the taste of the drink. Vodka should be taken from a trusted manufacturer to avoid counterfeiting and poisoning from the homemade drink.

Step 2

Step 2
We sort through the fresh plums, remove debris, twigs, leaves, rotten and damaged berries, and rinse thoroughly under running water.

Step 3

Step 3
Place in a colander and let the water drain completely. There is no need to cut the plum berries and remove the pits, firstly, to avoid clouding the mixture and spoiling the tincture, and secondly, thanks to the plum pits, the tincture will acquire a pleasant almond flavor.

Step 4

Step 4
We put the washed plum berries in clean jars; it is better to take three-liter jars in order to prepare a larger amount of drink in less time. We put the berries in a jar in such quantity that the entire volume of vodka indicated in the ingredients can be poured into the jar, and so that it covers the plum by a few centimeters. Close the jar tightly with a lid and put it in a dark place for a month and a half.

Step 5

Step 5
After the specified time, filter the tincture through gauze folded in several layers. You don’t have to throw away the berries from the tincture; plums can be used for baking or preparing any desserts for adults. Pour the strained tincture into bottles and seal tightly with corks. Place in a cool, dark place for storage.

Step 6

Step 6
We serve homemade plum tincture to the festive table. This drink with a tart plum flavor and pleasant almond notes will appeal to both men and women. Bon appetit!
