Ingredients (1 portion)

Basic:

Garlic 1 clove
Butter 10 g
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp
Greenery (dill, rosemary or thyme) to taste
Lemons (or lime) 0.5 pc
Soy sauce 2 tsp
Shallot (or small size) 1 pc
King prawns 300 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to fry king prawns in a frying pan? Prepare your food. Instead of shallots, you can use regular small ones. But instead of lemon, lime will work well — it will give the dish a special aroma.

Step 2

Step 2
Thaw the king prawns at room temperature and clean them (remove the chitinous shell, heads and tails). Then rinse the shrimp meat well, make an incision on the back of each shrimp and remove the vena cava.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the garlic and chop finely.

Step 4

Step 4
Also peel the onion and chop it as finely as possible.

Step 5

Step 5
Add vegetable oil and butter to the pan — this is necessary in order to prevent the butter from burning. Send the garlic and onions there too. Also donʼt forget about herbs. You can use any of them according to your own preferences. Dill (dill umbrellas), rosemary or thyme go very well with shrimp.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the frying pan on the heat and simmer the onion and garlic over medium heat, stirring continuously. When they become slightly transparent, turn the heat to maximum.

Step 7

Step 7
Immediately add shrimp and soy sauce to the pan. You can use a small pinch of salt instead of soy sauce, but, for my taste, the sauce gives the dish a spicy flavor.

Step 8

Step 8
Stirring constantly, fry the shrimp over high heat until the soy sauce has evaporated. The shrimp should turn red and curl into rings. Sprinkle them with lemon or lime juice and stir. The main thing in this step is to remove the shrimp from the pan in time, since with prolonged heat treatment the shrimp meat will become rubbery and tough.

Step 9

Step 9
Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan, place on a plate, and again sprinkle lemon or lime juice on top. Sprinkle with allspice if desired. Garnish with a slice of citrus and herbs. Serve to the table. Bon appetit!
