Wash the flakes thoroughly and drain the water. Dry the cereal, grind half the oatmeal into flour, you can do this using a coffee grinder or other device. Place the remaining whole flakes in a deep bowl and fill with hot water, leave for 10 minutes for the flakes to swell. Drain the water from the cereal, squeezing it out.
