Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make mead without boiling without yeast at home? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. The taste of the finished drink will directly depend on the taste of honey. It should be fragrant. It is best to choose light honey. Pour the required amount of warm water into a large jar.

Step 2

Step 2
Add honey to the jar and stir until it dissolves well.

Step 3

Step 3
Prepare the required amount of raisins and hops. I use granulated hops, special for mead. It is not as bitter as the drugstore one. There is no need to wash raisins, since there is “wild yeast” on their surface, due to which fermentation will occur.

Step 4

Step 4
Add hops and raisins to the jar. Mix everything again. If you prefer stronger drinks, you can also add some fresh grapes. In this case, the drink will ferment more strongly and, with prolonged aging, can acquire additional degrees.

Step 5

Step 5
Cover the jar with a small piece of gauze and place in a warm place. After 1-2 days, the first signs of fermentation will appear: foam will begin to form on the surface of the mixture. Remove the gauze, close the jar with a lid and leave for further fermentation. This will take 8-12 days. Due to the fact that there is no yeast in the drink, fermentation will take longer.

Step 6

Step 6
When the mixture stops fermenting (foam stops forming), it must be strained through several layers of gauze. Then pour the mead into bottles, close tightly and store in a dark and cool place for at least 3 months. During this time, the drink will acquire the necessary aroma and taste. If you age homemade mead without yeast even longer, it will acquire the necessary degrees and become alcoholic.
