Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make fried garlic shrimp in the shell? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any shrimp: king, tiger or regular. The smaller the shrimp, the faster they will cook. Thaw the shrimp first. Rinse the shrimp under running water in a colander and leave to drain excess liquid. Wash two unpeeled garlic cloves well, peel the remaining two cloves and finely chop.

Step 2

Step 2
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Read about how to choose the perfect frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Place the shrimp in a frying pan, add salt, unpeeled garlic, ground red pepper and allspice. Mix everything well. At this stage, you can also add dry basil or oregano, rosemary and other favorite spices if desired.

Step 3

Step 3
As soon as the shrimp begin to turn red, add finely chopped garlic and, stirring, cook for about 1-2 minutes. It is very important not to overcook the shrimp over high heat, otherwise the tender meat may become rubbery and tough.

Step 4

Step 4
Add finely chopped green onions to the shrimp, sprinkle with freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix everything well again. Instead of green onions, you can use chives or finely chop shallots.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the prepared shrimp in a serving plate, pour aromatic garlic oil on top and garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary or thyme. Very tasty both cold and hot.
