Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make tomatoes stuffed with cottage cheese and garlic? Prepare all the ingredients. Of course, it is better to prepare such an appetizer during the vegetable season, when the tomatoes are fresh and aromatic. If you cook it in winter, then try to use meatier tomatoes, but when choosing, I always focus on their smell and take the most aromatic ones. For this appetizer, the tomatoes should be fairly large in size, although you can also use cherry tomatoes if you are preparing for a buffet table. Any greens will do

Step 2

Step 2
You can use any cottage cheese for this dish, ideally homemade: low-fat cottage cheese and even grain-based cottage cheese are perfect. If you have soft cottage cheese, you can reduce the amount of sour cream. The main thing is that the mass holds its shape well. Sour cream can also be replaced with low-fat yogurt. Mix cottage cheese and sour cream, add a little salt. You can add some of your favorite spices: some people like it spicier — you can use hot pepper or sweet paprika.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the greens well, dry, chop and add to the curd mass. Lately Iʼve been loving the way of chopping greens using scissors rather than a knife. It is very comfortable!

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the garlic, chop it and add it to the cottage cheese. I grate the garlic on a fine grater, but you can chop it with a knife or put it through a press. If you donʼt have fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder.

Step 5

Step 5
Mix the mixture well until smooth. In principle, for a more piquant taste, you can add a little mayonnaise or completely replace sour cream with it.

Step 6

Step 6
Wash the tomatoes well, dry them, and carefully cut off the tops. If the tomatoes do not stand very evenly on the surface, then cut a little from the bottom for greater stability.

Step 7

Step 7
Remove the center, leaving walls of medium thickness. There is no need to salt the tomatoes themselves, otherwise they will release a lot of moisture and the appetizer will be too watery.

Step 8

Step 8
Fill the tomato cups with the resulting curd mass and serve immediately. An appetizer of tomatoes with cottage cheese and garlic is ready. Bon appetit!
