Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake salmon in the oven? Prepare your food. Pay special attention to the choice of fish. The priority, of course, is chilled salmon. Frozen fish contains much less nutrients. You also need to know how to defrost fish correctly: after freezing, put it in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours and only then completely defrost it at room temperature.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the fish well and dry. I have a salmon steak, but it could also be just a fish fillet.

Step 3

Step 3
Pour soy sauce over the fish. Pay special attention to the choice of soy sauce. Now there are a lot of cheap fakes of this product in stores. Choose naturally fermented soy sauce. It’s even better if it’s soy sauce, which is recommended to be used specifically for marinade.

Step 4

Step 4
We only need juice from the lemon, so you can also use ready-made, factory-produced lemon juice. If you squeeze juice directly from a lemon, first wash it with very hot water — this will allow the lemon to release more juice. Pour the juice over the fish, using a small strainer to prevent any bones from getting on it.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour vegetable oil over the fish. It can be any vegetable you like. I use sesame oil — itʼs ideal for marinades. Also at this stage, you can add some of your favorite herbs or seasonings to the fish: allspice, oregano, garlic powder. In my opinion, such a noble fish as salmon does not need a lot of seasoning.

Step 6

Step 6
Leave the fish to marinate for 20-30 minutes. Regarding salt: I did not salt the fish, since soy sauce is already salty enough. But in this matter, be guided by your taste.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the fish in a heatproof dish. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. Focus on the size of your fish. For a more delicate fish texture, I recommend covering the top of the pan with foil.

Step 8

Step 8
Tasty and tender salmon is ready. Serve it hot; fresh or baked vegetables are perfect as a side dish. Bon appetit!
