Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake hake in sour cream in the oven? Prepare all the necessary products. You can buy ready-made hake fillets or cut them from a whole fish. In any case, it is best to use chilled fish. If you have frozen fish, then you can find out how to defrost it correctly from the article at the end of the recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the fish well and dry. Hake fillet is usually quite long, so for convenience it is best to cut it into several parts.

Step 3

Step 3
Prepare a heat-resistant dish in which to bake the fish. Or it can be small portioned heat-resistant molds. The size of the shape depends on the number of fish. Place the hake fillet in a more compact form.

Step 4

Step 4
Add a little salt to taste. At this stage you can add your favorite herbs and spices. Maybe someone will want to pepper the fish or sprinkle it with garlic, gourmets and connoisseurs of fine cooking will most likely want to add some herbs: thyme, rosemary and even mint will perfectly highlight the taste of the fish, while others will simply limit themselves to a couple of slices of lemon. Focus on your taste!

Step 5

Step 5
Pour vegetable oil over the fish. According to your choice, it can be anything: from ordinary cheap sunflower and corn to elite olive.

Step 6

Step 6
Spread sour cream on top — fat content to your taste. Sour cream can also be replaced with mayonnaise, which of course is not very tasty, or with cream or light yogurt with a neutral taste.

Step 7

Step 7
Cover the pan with foil and place in an oven preheated to 180C for 30 minutes. The times are approximate, read about ovens in the article below the steps. If you like more delicate dietary dishes, then cook in foil until fully cooked. And if you like a crispy crust, then 10-15 minutes before the end of baking, remove the foil and bake the fish until golden brown. You will find a lot of useful information about foil in the article at the end of this recipe.

Step 8

Step 8
Delicious hake fillet in sour cream in the oven is ready! Serve the fish immediately while it is hot and fragrant. Bon appetit!
