Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a layered cheese, potato, egg and mushroom salad? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Peel the onions. Finely chop it with a knife. You can lay out the onions in a separate layer. To do this, pour boiling water over it and leave for 5 minutes. After the specified time, drain the water. This will reduce the specific bitterness of the onion. I decided to fry the onions along with the mushrooms.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the mushrooms and cut into cubes. You can use champignons as mushrooms, but if possible, it is better to prepare a salad from forest mushrooms; it will turn out much tastier and more aromatic. Fry the mushrooms in vegetable oil in a frying pan along with the onion (if you do not lay it out in a separate layer), add a pinch of salt. Fry wild mushrooms (without pre-cooking) for about 30 minutes. Let the mushrooms cool.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the potatoes and boil them in their skins until tender. Let the potatoes cool, then peel them and grate them on a medium grater. Wash the chicken eggs, place them in a saucepan with water and hard-boil. Read about how to do this correctly in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 4

Step 4
Separate the whites from the yolks.

Step 5

Step 5
Grate the whites and yolks on a medium grater.

Step 6

Step 6
Grate the hard cheese on a medium grater.

Step 7

Step 7
Start assembling the salad. You can use a cooking ring to place it on a plate, in a deep salad bowl or in portioned salad bowls in layers. Place grated boiled potatoes as the first layer. Lubricate it with a thin layer of mayonnaise. You can make your own mayonnaise. You will find recipes for homemade mayonnaise after the last step.

Step 8

Step 8
Place cooked fried mushrooms on top. Apply some mayonnaise again.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the next layer of grated whites and brush them with mayonnaise.

Step 10

Step 10
Distribute the yolks on top and brush with mayonnaise again.

Step 11

Step 11
The last layer will be grated hard cheese. If you like saltier dishes, you can salt the salad layers, but mayonnaise contains quite enough salt. Decorate the salad at your discretion, using mushrooms, herbs and cranberries.

Step 12

Step 12
Let the salad soak in the refrigerator, then serve. Bon appetit!
