Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a simple canned tuna salad? Prepare all the indicated ingredients. It is better to take canned tuna fillet, without oil; most often it is called that — for salad. But you can also use it in its usual form, milling it before cooking. If tuna is with oil, then you can season such a salad with this oil.

Step 2

Step 2
Sort the fresh lettuce leaves, separate them from each other and rinse each leaf under running cold water. Place clean lettuce leaves on a towel to dry. When the excess moisture is gone, tear the lettuce leaves into pieces with your hands and place them on a plate (if serving in portions) or in a salad bowl.

Step 3

Step 3
Rinse fresh tomatoes (try to choose fruits with strong, intact skins) with cold water and dry. If the tomatoes are winter, they should be washed more thoroughly. Cut the tomatoes into slices if they are large, and into quarters if the tomatoes are small. Add chopped tomatoes to the salad.

Step 4

Step 4
Rinse fresh cucumbers under running water in the same way as tomatoes. Dry and cut into circles or half circles. Add sliced cucumbers to salad.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel the onion, wash and cut into half rings. Add chopped onions to your salad. I used red onions for the salad; they are sweeter than onions and not as spicy. But you don’t have to add onions in this salad if you wish. Ordinary onions can be pre-pickled.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the canned tuna from the can, cut into small cubes and add to the salad.

Step 7

Step 7
Salt the salad to your taste; you can add other favorite salad spices. If you plan to serve the salad right away, you can season it with olive oil, mix lightly and serve.

Step 8

Step 8
Salad with tuna, cucumbers and tomatoes can be served as a healthy snack or as a full dinner for people on a healthy diet. A tasty and quick tuna salad is a storehouse of nutrients and vitamins. But, of course, it’s better when the vegetables for this salad are grown in your own garden or at least purchased in season.
