Sour cream 150 g
Vegetable oil 20 g

How to stew onions in sour cream? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. You can slightly change the quantity and proportions of ingredients to suit your taste. Sour cream can be of any fat content. My sour cream has 15% fat.

Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then chop the onion. You can cut it into half rings, a little smaller or very finely. Depends on what result you want to get. To obtain a more homogeneous mass, such as a sauce, chop the onion finely. During the stewing process it will turn into a homogeneous mass.

Heat a frying pan until hot and pour a little vegetable oil on it. Add chopped onion and stir-fry for 2-4 minutes.

During this time it will become more transparent. Donʼt let it fry.

Add sour cream to the onions.

Sprinkle a little salt and spices. Use spices according to your taste. I added paprika, a mixture of ground peppers and dried basil. Mix everything.

Add some water. If you want more gravy in the dish, you can add more water. Bring everything to a boil. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the onion in sour cream for 20-25 minutes.

During stewing, the onion will become quite soft. Remove the pan from the heat. This stewed onion can be served on its own with bread. You can add it to any side dish or meat dish. Bon appetit!
