Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make potatoes with lard in tandoor? Prepare all products according to the list. Take potatoes for the recipe that are approximately the same size and not very large.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the potatoes very well and dry. We will cook it in the peel, and therefore when washing it is better to use a brush. Place the potatoes in a deep bowl or pan. Peel and rinse the onion and garlic.

Step 3

Step 3
Cut large potatoes in half. Add salt to taste and your favorite dry spices. I usually use a mixture of ground peppers and herbes de Provence.

Step 4

Step 4
Add vegetable oil and mix everything thoroughly.

Step 5

Step 5
Build original boats or plates with high edges from foil. Make several layers of foil so that the plate holds its shape well. Place onion, not very coarsely chopped, in an even thin layer on the bottom of the plate. You can cut into rings, half rings or cubes, as you like.

Step 6

Step 6
Cut the lard into thin slices and place on top of the onion. What kind of lard is best to use? Simple salted or smoked lard works well. Chop the garlic by hand or pass it through a press. Send to the salo.

Step 7

Step 7
Make the next layer of finely chopped greens.

Step 8

Step 8
Place potatoes in one even layer.

Step 9

Step 9
The roasting recipe called for a two-tier rack, so I made two potato bowls. You can place whole, unpeeled garlic cloves between the tubers if desired.

Step 10

Step 10
Fire up the tandoor.

Step 11

Step 11
Wait until the wood and coals burn out.

Step 12

Step 12
Place the plates of potatoes on the rack.

Step 13

Step 13
Place in tandoor, cover with lid. Bake until the potatoes are done. You can check readiness with a toothpick. If the potatoes are pierced easily, then the dish is ready.

Step 14

Step 14
The baking time depends on the amount of coals in the tandoor, on the model of the tandoor itself and on the size of the potatoes. On average, potatoes are baked for about 30-50 minutes. The amazing aroma can be felt within 10-15 minutes after the start of cooking.
