How to stew carrots in sour cream in a frying pan with onions? Prepare all the necessary products that are indicated in the recipe. Their set is minimal. How to choose the right carrots? It should be firm, juicy and bright orange in color. Light carrots usually have coarser flesh and a less sweet taste. For this recipe, you can use sour cream of any fat content (mine is 24%).

Peel the carrots, onions and garlic (if using). Rinse everything under running clean water and dry with napkins to remove any remaining moisture.

Cut the carrots into medium-sized cubes. In general, the method of cutting carrots can be absolutely any at your discretion, be it circles, cubes, semicircles, etc. If you grate carrots on a coarse grater, keep in mind that during the cooking process they may turn into mush.

Chop the onion into quarter rings, thin half rings or feathers. This time I cut the onion into small cubes. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan with a thick bottom and high edges. Send the onions to fry.

Stirring, cook to desired degree of browning. You can leave for a few seconds until the onion becomes translucent, or fry a little longer until golden brown.

Place the carrots in the pan and mix everything.

Add your favorite spices (I used vegetable seasoning and ground paprika). Salt everything to taste. Mix everything thoroughly again. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the carrots for about 25-30 minutes. Open the lid periodically and mix everything carefully. If necessary, add a little water so that the carrots are stewed and do not burn. I added 2 tbsp twice. cold water.

Add sour cream, finely chopped garlic and ground black pepper.

Mix everything, cover with a lid and simmer on low heat for another 5-10 minutes. In the process, open the lid and stir everything.

At the end of cooking, sprinkle the stewed carrots and onions in a frying pan with finely chopped fresh herbs. This could be dill, parsley, young green onions or garlic.
