Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make rice in a frying pan with onions and carrots? Prepare the necessary ingredients. It is better to use long-grain or steamed rice for this dish so that it does not turn into porridge during heat treatment. The set of seasonings and spices can be changed to suit your taste.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onion and cut into cubes.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the carrots, peel and grate. Rinse the rice thoroughly, changing the water several times until the water runs clear. This will not only help get rid of dust and dirt, but also remove excess starch and gluten.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Place cooked vegetables on the oil: carrots and onions. Fry vegetables over medium heat until lightly browned.

Step 5

Step 5
Add washed rice to the pan with the vegetables. Add salt, ground black pepper, turmeric, and other spices if desired, but keep in mind that soy sauce will be added so as not to oversalt the dish. Place the garlic in the frying pan. Fill the contents of the frying pan with water so that it covers everything a couple of centimeters above. Let the broth boil and reduce the heat to low. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the vegetables and rice for about 20 minutes.

Step 6

Step 6
Then remove the lid from the pan and remove the garlic cloves. Pour in the soy sauce, stir and keep the dish on the fire for about 5 minutes, then turn off the heat. Let the dish sit covered for a few minutes and serve, sprinkling fresh herbs on top if desired.

Step 7
Bon appetit!
