Oven-Baked Pot Stew: Tender and Juicy Meat

Very easy and simple, for dinner and main course, it melts in your mouth! Meat stewed in pots in the oven, prepared according to this recipe, turns out very soft, juicy and aromatic. Stewing in ceramics makes it stewed, as if from a Russian oven. All preparation takes minutes, the oven does the rest.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew meat in pots in the oven? Prepare your food. The meat I have is pork, but you can take any — beef, lamb, chicken, turkey. If you wish, you can add potatoes, sweet peppers, and various spices to this dish — you will get a new dish every time! I offer a basic recipe that you can change to your taste.

Step 2

Step 2
Remove films from the meat, rinse, dry and cut into small pieces.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the onion and cut into large cubes.

Step 4

Step 4
Lightly fry the onion in hot oil in a frying pan — not until fried, but just until slightly softened and transparent. It is better to do this on low heat.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the fried onions in prepared pots.

Step 6

Step 6
Next, lightly fry the meat in vegetable oil in portions in a frying pan. Here the fire can be made larger so that the meat is fried and not stewed. Due to this frying, a crust is formed on the meat, which “seals” the juice inside, as a result the meat remains soft and juicy.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the fried pieces of meat in the pots to the top.

Step 8

Step 8
Remove the skin from the tomato. How to easily peel tomatoes? Wash them and make cross cuts on top with a sharp knife. Place in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Remove, cool slightly and remove the skin. Cut the tomato pulp into small cubes.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the chopped tomatoes on top of the meat. Add half a glass of hot water to each pot, salt and pepper. You can also add your favorite spices. Add a couple of bay leaves. Cover the pots with lids. If you donʼt have any, cover them with foil. Another interesting way to stew is to seal the pots with ready-made puff pastry or homemade unleavened dough.

Step 10

Step 10
Place the pots in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for an hour and a half. Calculate the exact cooking time according to your oven and meat: chicken will stew less, beef longer.

Step 11

Step 11
Serve the dish hot with herbs and any side dish. Bon appetit!
