Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make homemade pizza with onions, sausage and cheese? Prepare the ingredients for making tomato sauce. Olive oil can be replaced with refined vegetable oil. Instead of basil, other aromatic herbs, such as oregano, are suitable.

Step 2

Step 2
Heat olive oil slightly in a frying pan. Place previously peeled and thinly sliced garlic into the pan. Simmer the garlic over medium heat for about 1 minute until the oil acquires a piquant aroma and taste. Please note that it is important not to overheat the oil, otherwise the garlic will burn. Remove garlic from pan. If desired, the garlic can be finely chopped or passed through a press and left. Then its taste in the sauce will be more pronounced.

Step 3

Step 3
Place tomato paste in the pan and stir. Warm the tomato paste over moderate heat while stirring for a couple of minutes.

Step 4

Step 4
Add water, mix well.

Step 5

Step 5
Bring the sauce to a boil. Add salt, sugar, dried basil or other spices to taste. Cook the sauce over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the sauce from the stove, cover with a lid and let it sit for a while. The tomato sauce will become thicker and acquire a richer taste and aroma.

Step 7

Step 7
Measure out the required ingredients for the dough.

Step 8

Step 8
Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. If you are confident in the quality of the yeast, you don’t have to wait for its activation. If in doubt, leave the mixture for about 10 minutes until a light foam appears on the surface. Read about all the intricacies of working with yeast in a separate article (link at the end of the recipe).

Step 9

Step 9
Add olive oil and salt to the yeast water and stir.

Step 10

Step 10
Sift the flour. Leave a little flour, you may need less than the specified amount. Mix the dough first with a spoon. Then knead the dough with your hands, adding flour if necessary. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 11

Step 11
Knead a soft, loose dough that does not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a towel and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Step 12

Step 12
Meanwhile, prepare the filling. You can use any sausage. I have raw smoked one.

Step 13

Step 13
Cut the pre-peeled onions into half rings or feathers.

Step 14

Step 14
In a frying pan with vegetable oil, fry the onion, stirring occasionally, until tender. The vegetable should become soft.

Step 15

Step 15
Add soy sauce to the onion and stir. Simmer the onion and sauce for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat. Cool the filling.

Step 16

Step 16
Cut the sausage into thin slices.

Step 17

Step 17
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Any cheese is suitable: hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, without milk fat substitutes and melts well.

Step 18

Step 18
The dough has risen. Turn on the oven at 190-200 C.

Step 19

Step 19
Roll out the dough on parchment paper into a thin round layer. Mine is about 25 cm in diameter. Form small sides. How to choose the right parchment can be found in the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 20

Step 20
Transfer the parchment with the dough to a baking sheet. Brush the base with tomato sauce. You can use ketchup or ready-made sauce.

Step 21

Step 21
Distribute the fried onions evenly.

Step 22

Step 22
Place the sausage slices.

Step 23

Step 23
Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the filling.

Step 24

Step 24
Bake the pizza in an oven preheated to 190-200 C for about 15 minutes. The cheese should melt and the edges of the pizza should brown slightly. Baking times and conditions may vary. Install them based on the operating characteristics of your oven. For useful information on this topic, read the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 25

Step 25
Remove the finished pizza from the oven, cut into portions and serve immediately. Bon appetit!
