Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make meatballs with rice in tomato sauce and gravy in the oven? Very simple! To begin, prepare the ingredients according to the list. You can use any minced meat: pork, beef, chicken or turkey. I have a mixture of pork and beef. You can use store-bought minced meat or make it yourself by grinding the meat through a meat grinder.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the rice until the water is clear and boil in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes until half cooked, remembering to stir occasionally. Place the rice in a sieve and let it cool. Interesting and useful information about rice and the spices that go with it can be found in the articles; links are at the end of the recipe.

Step 3

Step 3
Grate the onion on a fine grater or pass through a meat grinder. If you or your children donʼt like onions, you can omit them altogether. However, in grated form, it is not felt at all in the meatballs.

Step 4

Step 4
In a bowl, combine minced meat, grated onion, boiled rice, salt, pepper and mix. Add the egg and mix the minced meat thoroughly again until smooth.

Step 5

Step 5
With wet hands, form the minced meat into even, medium-sized round meatballs.

Step 6

Step 6
Now prepare the sauce. Turn on the oven at 180℃.

Step 7

Wash the carrots, peel and cut into small strips or grate on a coarse grater.

Step 8

Step 13

Step 13
Pour the flour mixture into the pan. Add bay leaf. Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer over low heat, stirring, until thickened. The exact time depends on the heat setting, your cookware, and personal preference.
