Oven-Baked Stuffed Mushrooms with Meat and Cheese

Chicken mince 350 g
Onion 1 pc
Salt to taste
Any cheese 100 g
Carrot (optional) 1 pc
Vegetable oil 20 g
Champignon (large) 500 g

How to make stuffed mushrooms in the oven with minced meat and cheese? Prepare the following ingredients. We will stuff it with minced chicken. It is better to take very large mushrooms; they are easier to stuff with filling. Any cheese. Carrots and onions for filling the minced meat, carrots optional. Any spices to taste. Prepare a baking dish.

Sort the champignons and remove any remaining soil and debris. Rinse the mushrooms under running water and dry. Cut the stem from each mushroom without damaging the cap itself. Finely chop the cut mushroom stems.

Wash, peel and chop vegetables (onions and carrots). I repeat, carrots are added as desired, I like carrots in minced meat, it makes it a little juicier (as with other vegetables added to minced meat). Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the carrots and onions. Add the minced meat and fry it evenly, stirring constantly with a wooden spatula. Add salt, pepper and other favorite spices.

Add the chopped mushroom stems to the minced meat fried with vegetables, stir and fry everything together for a few more minutes. Finally, check for salt and pepper. Add if necessary.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. You can use any cheese. But if possible, you can take two types of cheese — hard, it will go into the filling, and soft — grate it on top, for an appetizing cheese cap after baking. Divide the grated cheese into two parts. Add one part to the cooled minced meat fried with vegetables.

Grease a baking dish with oil. Sprinkle each mushroom with salt and stuff with the filling, pressing it deep into the mushroom (without damaging it). Place the stuffed champignons in a baking dish and place it in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Keep in mind that everyoneʼs oven is different. Cooking temperatures and times may differ from those indicated in the recipe.

After 20 minutes, remove the pan with mushrooms from the oven and sprinkle each mushroom with the remaining grated cheese. Place the pan with the stuffed mushrooms back in the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.

Mushrooms stuffed in the oven with minced meat and cheese, serve hot. They can serve as an independent dish, but in the company of potatoes (boiled, mashed or french fries) they will only benefit.
