Baked Trout Steak in Foil

Useful, fast, simple, elegant, for a holiday dinner! Juicy trout steak in the oven in foil is a dish that can be served even to a child, if you do not use hot spices. It is better to serve them immediately after cooking, hot. With any suitable sauce, I suggest sour cream and mustard!

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake trout steak in the oven in foil? Prepare your food. If necessary, defrost the fish in advance. Take steaks depending on the number of eaters and the volume of steaks — my steak is quite large — 280 g, so it is quite suitable for 2 servings even without a side dish (for girls for sure). Choose spices for fish according to your taste. Wash the lemon with a brush and dry with napkins. Cut in half. Squeeze the juice from a small part of half a lemon.

Step 2

Step 2
Remove scales from the steak, rinse and blot excess water with a paper towel.

Step 3

Step 3
Rub the steak with a mixture of salt and spices, pour lemon juice and brush with olive oil. Let the fish sit in this marinade for a while.

Step 4

Step 4
And then place the prepared steak on the unfolded foil and wrap it quite tightly in an envelope.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the envelope with the fish on any baking sheet or in a baking dish and place in an oven preheated to 180C for 40 minutes. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.

Step 6

Step 6
Cut half a lemon into half slices. About 10 minutes before it’s ready, open the foil slightly with tongs — be careful, it’s important not to get burned by the steam! Place thin slices of lemon on the surface — this is not necessary, but it’s tastier and more beautiful. And return the trout steak to the oven under the grill until lightly browned.

Step 7

Step 7
In the meantime, you can prepare the sauce for the fish by mixing sour cream, grain mustard, a little chopped dill and green onions in a separate bowl. Add salt to taste or add soy sauce. This makes a very tasty sour cream and mustard sauce for fish.

Step 8

Step 8
Serve the trout steak in the foil boat in which it was baked; it will form a very tasty sauce from the juices of the ingredients used. You can also transfer it to plates, especially when you need to divide the fish into two servings.
