Chocolate Coffee Braid

Airy braid is a great addition to your morning coffee! The braided fabric turns out to be very tender, airy and fragrant. It does not lose its softness the next day. You can prepare it without the milk layer, but we add our own sweetness.

Ingredients (5 portions)

For dough:

Milk 100 ml
Yeast 10 g
Sugar 50 g
Salt 0.25 tsp
Chicken eggs 1 pc
Cocoa 10 g
Wheat flour 200 g
Butter 20 g
Almond petals 1 tbsp

In the layer:

Milk 60 ml
Condensed milk 40 g
Wheat flour 10 g

Add 1 tsp to warm milk. sugar and yeast. Stir until the yeast dissolves and leave for 5-10 minutes.

Add the remaining sugar to the milk, melted (already slightly cooled) butter, half an egg (the other half will be used to lubricate the braid) and a pinch of salt. Stirred.

Sift cocoa powder and flour into the milk mixture.

Place the dough on the table and knead well.

We send the resulting bun to a warm place to rise for 40-60 minutes or until it has at least doubled in size.

While the dough is rising, prepare the layer. To do this, add condensed milk and flour to the milk.

Mix so that there are no lumps. And put it in the microwave for 50-60 seconds.

It turns out to be a thick cream. Leave it until it cools completely.

Place the risen dough on the table. Knead and roll out into a layer about 4 mm thick.

Place the milk filling on the dough layer and spread it over the entire layer, stepping back a little from the edge. Roll into a tight roll, carefully sealing the edges.

Place the roll on a baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, cut the roll lengthwise, not reaching the edge a few centimeters.

We intertwine the parts of the roll into a braid. Leave the finished braid to rise for 20 minutes.

Grease the suitable braid with egg, sprinkle with almond petals and bake in an oven preheated to 180 C for about 30-40 minutes.
