Ingredients (10 portions)

Basic:

Sugar 200 g
Nutmeg 1.2 tsp
Wheat flour 225 g
Eggs 2 pc
Baking powder 2 tsp
Lemons 1 pc
Allspice 1.2 tsp
Dried fruits 500 g
Black tea 250 g

Prepare the ingredients. Brew 250 ml of strong black tea and cool it.

Rinse dried fruits thoroughly. Pour tea over dried fruits. Add sugar and stir well to dissolve the sugar. Cover with film or a lid and leave overnight — this is a mandatory and simple condition. Soak in the evening and bake in the morning.

So. Morning has come. Preheat the oven to 160ᵒ C. Prepare dried fruits: cut dried apricots into 4 parts, cut prunes in half.

In a bowl, mix flour with baking powder, salt, nutmeg and pepper. Add lemon zest. Mix well.

Add dried fruits and tea to the flour. Mix well.

Lightly beat the eggs.

Add eggs and mix well. The mixture should look like this.

Grease the mold with oil and pour the mixture into it. Bake at 160ᵒC for 60-80 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool.

When cool enough, remove. You can carefully run a sharp knife along the edges to make it easier to remove. This is such a beautiful brick. Decorate with powdered sugar (optional).
