How to bake apples in puff pastry in the oven? Prepare your food. I use store-bought, yeast-free dough. You can cook it yourself. The finished dough is sold frozen, so defrost it in advance by transferring it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator — this way the process will be more delicate.

Prepare the apple filling. How to make the filling? Grind the peeled walnuts in any way. I pounded them in a mortar, you can punch them with a blender or chop them with a knife. To make the nuts more flavorful, dry them before chopping them in a dry frying pan.

Mix chopped nuts with honey. You can also add raisins, cinnamon, and lemon zest to the filling.

Wash and dry the apples. The most delicious varieties for baking are autumn varieties, such as Antonovka. Using a knife and spoon, cut out the center with the seeds from the side of the stalk.

Roll out one layer of dough with a rolling pin on a table dusted with flour. Puff pastry has the ability to stretch well in one direction, so roll it along it. You should get a rectangular layer about 3mm thick. Cut it into two squares. Place stuffed apples in the center of each. Cut out the corners of the squares to create a four-cornered star.
