Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to fry fish fillets in batter in a frying pan? First, prepare the fish fillet. It is better to choose fillets of white, lean fish, for example, pollock (like mine); hake, cod, and pike perch are also suitable. Red fish can also be prepared this way, but it still tastes better when baked in the oven. If the fillet is frozen, then defrost it first and squeeze it lightly. Read about all the intricacies of proper defrosting in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the fish fillets and dry with paper towels. Then cut the fillet into portions.

Step 3

Step 3
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the marinade. I use sunflower oil, but you can also use olive oil, whichever you prefer. Parsley can be replaced with dill.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the prepared fish pieces in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice and vegetable oil, and add finely chopped parsley.

Step 5

Step 5
Mix everything well and marinate in the refrigerator for 25-30 minutes.

Step 6

Step 6
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the batter. Beer can be used both dark and light. I have dark beer.

Step 7

Step 7
How to make batter for frying fish fillets? Pour beer into a deep bowl. Sift the flour and add it to the beer in small portions, stirring thoroughly each time with a whisk so that there are no lumps.

Step 8

Step 8
Pour in vegetable oil, add salt.

Step 9

Step 9
Mix everything thoroughly until smooth. The batter should be semi-thick so that it sticks to the fish and does not drip off it. If your batter is too liquid, you can add another 1-2 tbsp. l. flour.

Step 10

Step 10
Dip the fish pieces into the batter. It should completely cover the fish.

Step 11

Step 11
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as how to choose the right oil for frying, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Fry the battered fish in a frying pan until golden brown, about 6-7 minutes on each side. The exact time depends on the size of the pieces of fish, the chosen frying pan and the operating characteristics of your stove. If desired, the fish can be deep-fried.

Step 12

Step 12
Serve the finished fish hot with any side dish. Bon appetit!
