Ingredients (6 portions)

Basic:

Sugar 4 tbsp
Wheat flour (with a slide, I got 45 g.) 4 tbsp
Eggs 4 pc
Baking powder 0.5 tsp
Jam (I have apple) 5 tbsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake a roll with jam? Prepare the following ingredients. I chose apple jam for the filling. I recommend using homemade jam. It happens that store-bought food becomes liquid due to high temperature and can leak out of the roll. Although you can always “fix” it by mixing it with flour or starch and bringing it to a boil.

Step 2

Step 2
To begin, line a baking tray with baking paper. Choose a trusted manufacturer so that the roll can be easily removed from the paper. Spread thick jam onto the paper in a thin layer. Important! The number of turns of the roll will depend on the area of the baking sheet and the distributed jam: the larger the area, the more turns the roll will have and the thinner the layer with dough and jam will be. Leave the paper with jam on the baking sheet and work on the dough.

Step 3

Step 3
Turn on the oven to preheat at 180 degrees. Divide the eggs into whites and yolks, placing them in different dishes. Sift the wheat flour through a fine sieve, mixing it with baking powder.

Step 4

Step 4
Beat the egg yolks, add sugar and continue beating for 1-2 minutes. Add the sifted flour with baking powder and continue beating for another 3 minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
Beat the egg whites into a fluffy white foam.

Step 6

Step 6
Gently fold the whipped whites into the bowl with the yolks, sugar and flour using a spatula and slow movements.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour the prepared dough onto a baking sheet with paper with jam so that it completely covers the jam.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. The exact baking time will depend on the features of your oven.

Step 9

Step 9
Remove the baking tray from the oven. Carefully turn the cake over onto a clean towel, jam side up. Remove the paper. Using the same towel, roll the cake into a roll.

Step 10

Step 10
Cool the finished roll and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Cut the roll into portions when it has cooled completely.
