How to make soft, airy waffles with milk for an electric waffle iron? Prepare your food. It is better if all the products are at room temperature — then the waffles will turn out more fluffy. Therefore, remove the milk and egg from the refrigerator in advance. The oil will be heated, it is not necessary to take it out. If you are short on time, you can heat the milk and keep the egg in warm water.

Melt the butter in any available way — in the microwave, in a water bath, or simply in a ladle on the stove. I microwaved it, 10 seconds was enough.

Pour the milk into a bowl. Divide the egg into yolk and white, and immediately add the yolk to the milk. Add sugar, regular and vanilla. You can change the amount of sugar depending on your preferences. With the recipe, the waffles are not very sweet.

Mix the products with a whisk; a regular hand whisk is sufficient.

Add baking powder to the flour and stir. Sift the mixture into a bowl of milk. This will saturate the flour with oxygen, which will make the baked goods more airy. Add a pinch of salt. Pour in the melted butter.

Mix everything together with a whisk until smooth. There will be no lumps, since there will be quite a lot of flour.

Beat the egg whites with a mixer until stiff peaks form. A well-beaten egg white will not fall out of the bowl when turned over.

Transfer the whipped egg white to the dough. Gently stir it in using a hand whisk or spatula. The dough will become much thinner. Do not knead it for a long time so as not to destroy the structure of the whipped protein, which will make the waffles airy.
