Milk 125 ml
Vegetable oil 20 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make bread cakes in a frying pan? Pour water and milk at room temperature into a deep bowl, add salt to taste and stir until it dissolves. I used 0.5 teaspoon of salt, the flatbreads were not very salty. You can use a silicone spatula or tablespoon to mix.

Step 2

Step 2
Measure out the specified amount of flour and immediately sift it into a separate dry bowl. Pour more than half of the flour into the liquid. This is approximately 200 grams.

Step 3

Step 3
Mix. It turns out to be a liquid base.

Step 4

Step 4
Add another 100 grams of flour.

Step 5

Step 5
We begin to knead the dough in a bowl.

Step 6

Step 6
When it becomes difficult to knead and the dough comes together, transfer it to a work surface, which we sprinkle with half the remaining flour. The dough is quite sticky. Now knead it, gradually adding flour on the table, you may have to pour out the remaining flour, but maybe not. It may take less or more flour, because it comes in different varieties and contains different amounts of gluten.

Step 7

Step 7
What consistency should the dough be? As soon as it stops sticking to your hands, the dough is ready. Form a ball.

Step 8

Step 8
We divide our bun with a knife into 3 equal parts. Roll each one into a ball.

Step 9

Step 9
Melt the butter in a saucepan on the stove, then pour it into a small bowl and mix with vegetable oil.

Step 10

Step 10
Take one ball and roll it out with a rolling pin from the middle to the edges into a thin layer about 1 millimeter thick. As you roll out the dough, lift it off the table periodically to make sure it doesnʼt stick. I also lightly dusted the table with flour. Lubricate the layer with oil using a silicone brush, not reaching the edges by 2 centimeters.

Step 11

Step 11
Roll the layer into a roll. When rolling, lift the sides a little, as if pushing the oil under them so that it does not squeeze out.

Step 12

Step 12
Then we wrap the tourniquet around ourselves so that we get a snail like this. We do not fix the edges.

Step 13

Step 13
Knead the workpiece with your hands. I got a cake with a diameter of 15 centimeters and a thickness of about 1 centimeter.

Step 14

Step 14
Place the flatbread on a preheated dry frying pan with a thick bottom and press down a little more. Or you can immediately spread it out not on the table, but in a frying pan. Make the fire a little more than medium. How long to fry the flatbread? I cooked on one side for 7 minutes until brown spots formed. Use your stove as a guide — it may take 5 minutes, or maybe 10. The longer the cakes are on the fire, the crispier they will turn out.

Step 15

Step 15
Turn over and fry until done — it took me about 7 more minutes. Remove the finished flatbread from the frying pan and fry the remaining two, which we prepare according to the same principle as the first.

Step 16

Step 16
It turned out to be three small cakes! Fragrant, soft, flaky due to the oil inside. Very tasty! Use these flatbreads instead of bread or simply with tea, coffee or other drinks.
