Baked Stuffed Potatoes with Minced Meat and Cheese

From ordinary products, appetizing, delicious, for dinner! French potatoes with minced meat and cheese is a dish that combines both meat and a side dish. This is very convenient because everything is prepared in one bowl. Baked in the oven, the potatoes turn out soft, juicy, with a golden brown crust on top.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make French potatoes with minced meat? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Any minced meat is suitable: pork, beef, a mixture of pork and beef, chicken, turkey. You can use it either store-bought or homemade. Choose good quality cheese, both hard and other varieties will do. The main thing is that it is without milk fat substitutes, tasty and melts well.

Step 2

Step 2
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices. The thinner the slice, the tastier the dish will be.

Step 4

Step 4
Grease a baking dish (I have 18*24 cm) with vegetable oil. Place all the potato slices overlapping each other into the pan. Lightly salt and pepper the potatoes.

Step 5

Step 5
Spread all the minced meat evenly over the potatoes. There is no need to salt and pepper the minced meat, because there will already be salty cheese on top and a filling that will already contain salt and pepper.

Step 6

Step 6
Sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Step 7

Step 7
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for filling. How to fill? You can use any spices you like: it can be a ready-made set of spices for potatoes or minced meat, or separately selected spices such as paprika, dry garlic, as well as various dry herbs. I just use curry, salt and pepper.

Step 8

Step 8
In a glass, combine milk, sour cream, curry, salt and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly. You can use sour cream of any fat content. I had 15%.

Step 9

Step 9
Pour the resulting mixture over the potatoes and minced meat. Bake French-style potatoes in an oven preheated to 180°C for 40-45 minutes. If the top is browned and the dish is not yet ready, cover the pan with foil. !!! Try not to let the foil come into contact with the top layer, that is, the cheese. Otherwise, all the cheese will stick to the foil and your dish will be left without a cheese layer. Determine readiness with a sharp knife — it should pierce the potato layer freely.

Step 10

Step 10
Cool the finished casserole slightly, then cut into portions and serve. Bon appetit!
